Rob Clark received his PhD from the University of Edinburgh in 2003. His primary interest is in producing engaging synthetic speech. Before joining Google Rob was at the University of Edinburgh for many years involved in both research and teaching relating to text-to-speech synthesis. Rob was one of the primary developers and maintainer of the open source Festival text-to-speech synthesis system.
