Abstract
We present a social network inspired and access control list based sharing model
for web resources. We have specified it as an extension for OpenSocial 1.0 and
implemented a proof of concept in Orkut as well as a mobile social photo sharing
application using it. The paper explains important design decisions and how the
model can be leveraged to make privacy a core component and enabler for sharing
resources on the web and beyond using capabilities of mobile devices.
