Lawrence S. Brakmo

Lawrence S. Brakmo developed TCP Vegas and the xSim network simulator while he was a graduate student under professor Larry L. Peterson at the University of Arizona. After receiving his Ph.D., he joined Digital's Western Research Lab (WRL) and worked on mobile computing, energy management and operating systems. He continued working in these areas at Compaq Research and HP Labs. He joined the OS group at DoCoMo USA Labs in 2003 and became OS project manager in 2006. He is currently at Google where he has returned to his networking roots.
